Not Marketing Plans Things That I Have Found That Have Little To Do With The Sale of Your Home.
I've been in this business since the early 1990's and I've attended many seminars that taught agents how to use the best presentation materials to impress home owners as well as how to handle home sellers' objections. I've also trained real estate agents myself. I have found the current practice by most agents wastes both time and money. Most of the so called "marketing plans" have very little to do with the actual sale of your home but everything to do with generating more leads for the agents and brokers.
Remember agents are trained to use advertising and marketing programs to promote themselves NOT to sell your home. And just incase you don't know it yet, you are the one who pays for their personal promotions.
Before we talk about what actually sells your home, we need to know what doesn't. Please bare in mind that I'm speaking in general terms. You may have exceptional personal experience and there's always an exception to the general rules.
If you've ever interviewed a real estate agent, you would most likely see the agent makes some or all of the following presentations and claims:
Magazine Ad
Newspaper Ad
Open House
Direct Mailers
Broker Tour
Office Tour
Home Profile Book
I'm The Area Specialist
We Have Hundreds of Offices
We have Hundreds of Agents
International Relocation Services
They all sound and look very impressive but they have very little to do with the actual sale of your home. First, let's take a look at the truth about the role of advertising in the Real Estate Industry.
